This wonderful, charming old compact is from the Djer Kiss line of French cosmetics produced in the 1920's. It appears to be silver but is unmarked, and may be silverplate. There is a good bit of tarnish, but I leave cleaning to the purchaser as some people prefer the aged patina. This neat compact has a double mirror, one side of which is magnified, over the rouge compartment. The other side has a cover over the powder compartment. The powder cover is incised Poudre Djer Kiss Kerkoff and Pat'd 5-10-25. The compact measures about 2" square. It is mentioned in Vintage Compacts & Beauty Accessories by Lynell Schwartz.
