Ivory Alabaster Limited Edition Plate of Madame Butterfly

This gorgeous three dimensional solid ivory alabaster collector plate of the love duet from the end of Act I of Puccini's Madame Butterfly was hand crafted at the Studio Dante di Volteradici in Tuscany, Italy, in 1977 by the Master Gino Ruggeri under the auspices of Museo Teatrale alla Scala. The front of the plate bears the artist's signature as well as the studio's name and the year done in Roman numerals. The metal plate with the plate number AD 1562 on the underside needs re-gluing and has some discoloration. The 8.5" plate is in excellent condition. A pamphlet written in English describes the opera, and has a brief history of the Studio and sculptor. It comes in its original shipping box which is sturdy but worn. Included is also a patron's admission ticket to The Museum of La Scala in Milan, Italy that was good during the 200th anniversary ending December 31, 1978. The COA is missing.
