Bryon's Lonely Hearts Club Box from Lord Byron's Harmony Garden

The UK based Harmony Kingdom began making intricate little boxes in the early 1990's. They have quickly become highly collectible. The boxes are intricate carvings by master artists made of crushed marble and resin to resemble antique ivory, then handpainted by cottage craftsmen. They later contracted for special craftsman in China to produce some lines with artists from the Martin Perry Studio. (Martin Perry was one of the original creators of Harmony Kingdom.) One such line was Lord Byron's Harmony Garden which follows the ladybug Lord Byron on his journey through life among the various flowers.

"This box figurine featuring a bigger-than-life depiction of Lord Byron was one of two 1999 exclusive (Members Only of the Royal Watch Collector's Club) club redemption pieces. Hallmarks include ©, star, HBC logo, ed.#, and eye", according to the Harmony Kingdom web site. Bryon's Lonely Hearts Club was carved by Master Artist Monique Baldwin in 1998, then released on 1/1/99 in an edition of 8528 boxes. It was retired on 3/31/2000. The dimensions of the piece are 3.62 x 2.99 x 2.95 inches. The model number is RW99LB. The box is referenced in the 9th edition Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited editions by Mary L. Sieber. Excellent condition with no damage. No box or literature available with this piece.
