Great collectibles, friendly service, careful packing and quick shipping - why buy anywhere else?
The UK based Harmony Kingdom began making the Treasure Jest boxes in the early 1990's. They have quickly become highly collectible. The boxes are intricate carvings by master artists made of crushed marble and resin to resemble antique ivory. The Treasure Jests are a humorous line often with secret images or markings that have meaning to artist's life.
This box is "Dog Days". According to Harmony Kingdom, "This hound dog box figurine is an early piece and does not incorporate the hidden mouse, inner carving, or any hallmarks. It pre-dates the arrival of Peter’s beloved dog, Murphy. Interior hallmarks include © and HBC logo." A total of 28,438 boxes were produced for this piece.
The box was originally carved by master carver Peter Calvesbert in 1994, released on 9/1/1994 and retired on1/5/2001. The dimensions of the piece are 2.32 x 1.93 x 2.2 inches. The model number is TJHO. Dog Days is referenced in the 9th edition Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited editions by Mary L. Sieber. The box figurine is in excellent condition, but unfortunately does not come with the original box or insert.
