Great collectibles, friendly service, careful packing and quick shipping - why buy anywhere else?
This box is "Trumpeters' Ball". According to Harmony Kingdom, "this group of raucous elephants circles one another in this box figurine. The mouse is on an elephant’s knee. Inside the box lies a tusk. An extra trunk was sighted on the early boxes between the elephant’s legs, just over the hallmarks. The trunk was removed due to production considerations in August 1996. A variety of colour variations exist on this piece: the first 1090 were painted yellow and grey until early August, 1996; the next 460 had no colouring at all, after which two of the elephants in the piece were couloured grey. Hallmarks include ©, diamond, HBC logo, clock face with month 4, ed.#, and Pc." This box is one without color which means it is one of the 460 produced in the second group or somewhere between the 1091st and 1550th box. A total of 30,190 boxes were produced in total for this piece (including all the variations).
The box was carved by master carver Peter Calvesbert in 1996, whose initials are carved on the base, and retired on 4-14-2003. The dimensions of the piece are 2.56 x 2.36 x 2.6 inches. The model number is TJEL2. Trumpeters' Ball is referenced in the 9th edition Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited editions by Mary L. Sieber with a trend price of $55. This one is more reasonably priced and comes with it's original box and an insert with the artist bio. The box figurine is in excellent condition. The packing box has a few slight areas of wear. Just a wonderful piece for elephant lovers or collectors.
