It has the Swan Quarter Carving Company logo of Crystal Lake, IL, incised and stamped on the bottom. The decoy is also signed K. Aund '86 and Lenny Baker. An employee who used to work for Swan Quarter has informed me that K. Aund was the painter. Another employee, Steven D. The Hornick Brothers, Raymond (Rick) and Leonard (Len) started Stoney Point Decoys from the Oak Hall, Virginia area in 1972. Len was a carver and Rick the painter. It became one of the largest decoy factories in the world during it's prime in the 1980s. It was later sold then eventually closed in 2003. This beautiful duck decoy which I believe is a Mallard drake is mounted on a board. It is one of the factory decoys hand painted by one of the brothers and signed on the bottom "Raymond E. Collectibles:Folk Art:Duck Decoy
This neat old hand carved duck was used as a working decoy and still has the metal keel nailed to the bottom. There are no markings to indicate who made this wonderful bird. The paint has worn off considerably but one can still see some white under the tail, three feathers painted on each side and the ring of color around the bill. The head is inlet and moves slightly. The "eye " on one side looks like a nail was used to make an indentation. The other eye is an incised circle. There is a carved ...

This beautiful wooden duck decoy is signed in carving on the bottom D. Haag 1985.
