I add new items every week. Unique Jewelry. Delicate Porcelain. Rare Collectibles.
This lithograph was taken from one of those books. Directly underneath the colored picture it reads; 1) The Chattering Lory - Lorius Garrulus - 2) The Yellow Backed Lory - Lorius Flavo - Palliatus - Published by R. H. Porter. On the top left hand corner is written; The Loriidae. On the top right hand corner is written; Plate XXIV. Under the lowest branch the plate is numbered 3/4 and to its left it is signed in pencil JGK, the initials of the artist.
The frame is wood, painted black and delicately edged in gold. It measures 17" X 20 1/2" and is 1" deep. The lithograph is matted and under glass and the visible portion of the colored plate is 9 1/4" X 11 1/2".
This stunning piece has no damage other than that the edges of the paper of the litho are somewhat yellowed with age. No tears, foxing or stains. Beautifully framed and ready to hang. This hung in my aunt’s home next to another matching Mivart lithograph of the Purple Bellied Lory, taken from the same book. That piece is listed separately.
This will have to be shipped by Fed Ex and the estimate within the US is 30.00. International buyers must contact me for shipping rate.
