Antique 1900 Paris France sgnd Red White Marble Mantel Clock with Dog

Offering a really wonderful, antique, made in France mantel clock. This large clock measures 17" in length and 9" in height. It is made of red and white marble with a black marble or onyx base, and weighs almost 25 lbs. The glass face door opens. To one side is a large German Shepherd dog made of some kind of metal. The metal does not attract a magnet so it may be spelter. The dog is a bit taller than the clock. At the back of the clock is a lovely brass grill door which opens to reveal the movement inside. When you unscrew the round chimer bell, there is a hanging pendulum behind it and engraved in the brass clock works, are the words: Medaille d'Or Paris - F. Martin - 1900. The clock belonged to my great aunt. When I unpacked it there was no key so I purchased a replacement, wound it up and the clock works beautifully with it. It runs for about 8 days. There is what is either a small chip or imperfection on the small piece of white marble on the far side of the clock. The edges of this little side piece are a bit rough. The dog is really gorgeous, a very noble face and the metal has a nice greenish reddish patina.This clock will be shipped Fed Ex. I normally quote shipping cost on my items however this piece is so large and heavy that until it's packed I cannot be exactly sure what the final cost will be.
