Monumental Two piece Flame mahogany high style bedroom suite attributed to Daniel Pabst. From the Philadelphia Museum of art Bulletin dated April 1977 volume 73, page 11, and third paragraph, describes how Daniel Pabst commonly used a “flat scalloped petal motif on pilasters and doors”. Daniel Pabst is known for his spectacular modern Gothic style furniture and often used American black walnut, Mahogany, Cherry and bird’s-eye maple veneer. The top crest of the bed and mirror are identical featuring beautiful geometric designs, incised carving and dental molding trim. Just below on the headboard is a large book matched flame mahogany center panel, on either side of the center panel is a column adorning the flat scalloped petal motif. In the center of the four motif columns are fabulous hand carved panels with finely detailed leaf carvings. The footboard has the same exact configuration. The Dresser has three beveled mirrors all showing a bit of age but in pretty good condition. The rose brown marble top is 2” thick and weighs about 200lbs. Notice the close-ups of the drawer interior, all the drawers have beautifully figured birds’-eye maple veneer. All the hardware is solid brass. The flat scalloped petal motif adorns four columns on the dresser mirror and also four columns on the dresser base. Truly a fabulous extremely rare bedroom suite. Circa: 1880 Dim: inquire Finish: completely restored
