Use this bail handled basket as a sugar dish at tea time, to serve your favorite after dinner mint, and/or for candy, nuts, bonbons, etc. Made in the USA and either already a 100 year old antique or soon to be, this Saart Brothers dish features an embossed flower and leaf pattern around the footed pedestal base and rim, and a complementary scroll motif embellishes the scalloped swing handle. It resembles a small Bride's Basket and a calling card holder.

Today, this work of decorative art can also be used on a vanity or dresser to store jewelry and trinkets. With its classic shape and simple elegance, it would compliment many decors, including shabby chic, country cottage and Victorian garden.

MARK: S(symbol)B “Sterling” Saart Brothers (Attleboro, MA, USA) mark ca 1900 - 1930.

CONDITION: great condition, with a few typical character marks. Its base has a "D" monogram, as shown.

SIZE: About 4.5" w x 6" h to top of the handle.

COLOR: Silver with a patina that adds depth to the etched trim.
