This beautiful Art Nouveau brooch is Sterling (front) hollow ware. The brooch measures 2 1/4 inches by 2 inches (about- hard to measure all the flow). It features what looks like a woman (but may be a man in a billowy shirt) at the wheel of a boat on the ocean with a sailboat in the background. The detail is amazing! This piece dates to the turn of the last century (notice the basic C clasp on the back and the punched stars). It is estimated to have been produced somewhere between 1890 and 1910. The first picture shows some darkening around that mouth that is actually only reflection. This area is quite smooth. The piece is in great condition with a gorgeous patina.
