RUSTIC PATTERN
Burgess and Leigh ~ Hill Pottery
Staffordshire England
c. 1886
This large victorian aesthetic platter is 16 3/8 " long x 11 3/4 "wide and is transfer printed in deep blue, the darkest deep blue we have seen in this transfer. A fantastic platter.
The clear and crisp RUSTIC pattern features two birds in flight over an urn filled with cherry blossom flowers. Exotic fruit and red raspberries along with a multitude of flowers frame the aesthetic cartouche of a distant country landscape. Wonderful geometric designs complete the plate.
The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands.
The platter is in very good condition. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
