MID-NOVEMBER SALE! Take 10% ALL Items 'til 11/30! Beautiful New Items Added Weekly! Layaways Available! I Ship Worldwide!
This ring is a truly lovely example of late-Victorian jewelry. Hardstone cameo rings are usually mounted in gold, but this is mounted in sterling silver, which will match all of your silver Victorian jewelry (silver unmarked but tested)!
The bezel of this ring is set with a hand-carved onyx cameo of a Roman gentleman. He is carved with a fine hand; his hair and beard ar carved into minute, individual locks, and his eyes are lidded. He has a superb profile, and wears a Phrygian cap and a flowing toga. The cameo measures 14 mm x 9 mm (26.5 mm = 1 inch), and the octagonal bezel of the ring measures 7/8" x 5/8".
This ring is currently a tiny 3 3/4, but could easily be re-sized by a competant lapidary. This ring almost certainly began life as a pinky ring, and is just as wearable as it was when it was crafted over 115 years ago! The ring weighs 7.3 grams. The shoulders are forked, and the ring is closed at the back of the bezel.
This is one handsome jewel that would make a suitable pinky ring for a lady or a gentleman! It is in excellent condition, and the cameo is free of chips or damage. This ring will make a stellar addition to any collection of antique jewelry, or a great holiday gift for that special lady or gentleman who loves high-quality Victorian jewelry! Do not miss this dashing jewel; it is priced for quick holiday sale!
