Dating to ca. 1880, this stunning sterling silver bracelet is a wonderful example of Anglo-Indian Victorian jewelry!

During the age of British Imperial India, bracelets such as this were crafted by skilled Indian lapidaries for export to the English market. This bracelet from the era of the Raj is an excellent example of Victorian-era export jewely! This bracelet is crafted from sterling-grade silver, and is both a substantial and an elegant jewel (silver unmarked but tested)!

This bracelet is comprised of seven graduated plaques, each with a multi-faceted sterling stud set atop a wonderful swirl of silver canetille work and filigree! The design is an abstract floral pattern, and the workmanship is top quality! Each plaque is connected by a center link and two short lengths of silver chain. The bracelet is in all-original condition, without losses, damage or replacements.

This bracelet measures 7" wearable length. The largest of the plaques measures 1 1/4" in diameter, and the smaller plaques are perfectly proportioned. This bracelet retains its original "tongue-in-groove" clasp, which locks securely into the smallest plaque. Weighing in at 47.3 grams, this is a substantial jewel that looks very elegant on the wrist!

This bracelet has not been cleaned, and boasts a deep, 125-year-old "bloom" to the silver. There is a small spot on the back of one connector loop which someone has polished, probably to test the silver content, but this does not detract from the appearance nor the value of this fine jewel. The construction of this bracelet is complex; it must have taken a long time to craft all of the intricate filigree and canetille work!

Suitable for day or evening wear, this bracelet is just as wearable today as when it was shipped from India to England to grace the wrist of a lady of fashion in the 1880s. It has survived into the 21st century in fantastic condition, and the style is unique, yet timeless! This bracelet will harmonize with all of your Victorian silver, filigree or cut steel jewelry, and it is crafted to last another 125+ years!

If you collect the finest in Victorian jewelry, this bracelet belongs on your wrist and in your collection! Anglo-Indian jewels of this era are also becoming highly sought-after; do not miss this wonderful and wearable example!
