Coin bracelets gained popularity throughout the last half of the 19th-century, but rarely does one find such a bracelet crafted from Imperial Russian coins! This bracelet is comprised of eight Russian silver 20 kopek pieces dating from 1860-1865. Best of all, none of the coins are much worn; they are all still crisp and detailed, showing the double-headed Russian eagle on one side, and the 20 Kopek denomination and the date on the reverse.
This bracelet measures 7 1/4" wearable length, and the bracelet measures 3/4" in diameter. The box-style clasp slips into the back of the last coin on the bracelet. Even more intriguing, this jewel was crafted with a set of international coins as a "charm;" a Victorian sixpence dated 1895, a French franc, a Victorian three-pence, and a Chilean coin jingle below when you wear this beauty!
All of the coins on this bracelet pre-date 1900, and whomever had this bracelet crafted was clearly talented; there is an intact safety chain, and all of the coins are chosen for their crispness and fine detail. This is the ONLY Victorian coin bracelet I have seen incorporating 20 kopek pieces this early in date!
This bracelet was almost certainly put together by a wealthy lady after she returned from a Grand Tour of Russia; it is just as wearable today as when it was crafted 110+ years ago! It is also beautifully wearable, and suitable for day or evening wear!
Weighing in at 56.8 grams, this is the ultimate in Czarist-era jewelry, and will make a wonderful addition to any collection of Russian, Victorian or coin jewelry. I do not expect to find another of this rare origin or history; do not miss this treasure from the era of Imperial Russia!
