As most of my Ruby Lane shoppers know, I rarely deal in estate jewelry, but I originally purchased this fabulous strand of pearls for my own wear. I had always wanted a fine Tahitian black pearl necklace, but I find that every time I reach for a piece to wear, I still always go for my antique jewels, so I am passing this stellar necklace on for the consideration of my Ruby Lane clientele!

This superlative pearl necklace measures 18" long, and boasts 54 of the most beautiful black Tahitian pearls I have ever seen! These pearls are "off-round," but look perfectly round when worn. The pearls are AAA grade, and there is a gorgeous rainbow of colors - bronze, peacock, rose, and metallic black! Please note that these pearls are UNTREATED - these colors were produced by nature! The luster of the pearls is excellent; less than 30% of the pearls have any surface blemishes, and none have "rings" - the true sign of the finest Tahitian pearls!

The pearls are gently graduated in size, from 6.8 mm for the smallest to 8.5 mm for the largest. The 14k white gold safety clasp is original to the necklace, and ensures that they are secure on the neck (clasp unmarked but tested). The pearls are strung on black silk with double knots between each pearl. I love just handling these pearls and looking at all the beautiful undertones! Best of all, these pearls are true black, not the washed-out charcoal color of pearls of lesser quality.

Weighing in at 38 grams, this magnificent necklace looks wonderful with anything you wear, and is suitable for day or evening dress.
