Guarantees & Duty
What will happen if you have a problem with the jewellery which would normally be covered under warranty? Can you return it, and if so how much will it cost to post and insure?

We usually ship within one to two business days (sometimes even the same day!); our preferred shipping method is Federal Express for swift and secure receipt of your purchases. All the goods we sell are accompanied by the Adin authenticity certificate. These bear the signature of Elkan Wijnberg, who in addition to being CEO of Adin, personally is a member of "the Belgian Chamber of Experts to the Courts of Justice" and to "The American Society of Jewelry Historians". All our items will be shipped worldwide by express with FEDEX for Free (or only $40 for some items), insurance included. We give people a seven days 'no questions asked' send-back possibility (counting from the next day of delivery).
We agree to cancel any sale and return all proceeds to the buyer, for a period of seven working days from the date the parcel is received by the buyer.

We also have to inform you that in most countries outside Europe there is an duty to be paid by the customer on pieces that are not antique (an object is considered antique if it is 100 years or older). For information about shipping charges to other countries, please contact us.

History of Adin fine antique jewelry, Antwerp Belgium

The company Adin (an ancient biblical term for fine or noble) was started in 1983 by the two partners Messrs. Henry Edel and Elkan Wijnberg. Elkan had just received his certification as a master-goldsmith while Henry had been a successful diamond merchant.

Originally an antique gold and silver restoring and trading company they soon developed a taste for the nineteenth century jewellery which Elkan was specialized in. They soon came to be known in Belgium as the ones offering the best prices for old jewelry.

Adin's antique restoration team (in own workshop) has a full-time occupation with the restorations of antique jewelry owned by customers and by Adin. Restoring antique jewelry for customers is done with the same dedication and enthusiasm as it would be Adin's.
Since 2003, Henry is enjoying his retirement and Elkan has become CEO of Adin.

The way we work

Adin is famous for the care and authentic expertise it lavish on even the smallest jewel to bring it up to the standard its customers have come to expect from the Adin name.

In addition to the buying and selling of antiques Adin is also a trader in precious metals and a major high street buyer of second hand jewellery. We have our own repair and restore studio and an experienced team of master goldsmiths and stone-setters. Antiques come in mostly by way of our high-street buying shop in Antwerp, Belgium. Most of the sellers are private individuals and jewelers who work as middleman between their customers and Adin.

Most of the jewels offered to us will never see the inside of our workshops (atelier), as only the very best are selected for sale or restoring. The rest are passed on to our precious metals department to be processed through the appropriate channels. This assures that the jewellery we sell as antiques are only those that our experts consider to be fine examples of their type.

We carry a frequent changing stock of antique jewelry, estate jewelry and vintage jewelry with prices usually ranging between €300 to €5,000 although we do have pieces starting from €50 and going on up to as much as €50,000. Sales generally occur out of our prestigious Antwerp store or through the Internet.
