Our Service Pledge To You:
I want to welcome you and thank you for choosing to do business with me. I appreciate the fact that you have chosen my shop and I will do everything in my power to build a lasting relationship. Your comfort is my main concern.

Every effort has been made to accurately describe items. I am well aware of the frustration caused by 'hidden' flaws and do not wish to cause anyone that headache.

We have all misjudged an item we have purchased in a brick and mortar shop, even after examining it carefully. I realize how much harder the decision is when we are relying on photos and a written description.

Buy with complete confidence! Satisfaction Guaranteed!

I really do believe that "Honesty is the best policy!"

I realize that in today's competitive marketplace you are faced with many choices, and I appreciate the fact that you have chosen my shop.

I have always stressed that my customers come first. While I will be sorry not to have met your needs, your may return any item.

All items are impressed with a security mark, which will wash off, DO NOT WASH THIS OFF. This is my identification mark for returns.

You must contact me at: adell55@aol.com within 3 days after you receive the item. The item must be in the same condition as it was when it was sent to you. Any damage done in shipping is covered by insurance.

I will refund the full amount sent to me,( purchase price, shipping both ways and insurance both ways), if I have inadvertently misrepresented the item (not-as-described). Items returned for any other reasons, the buyer is responsible to pay for the incurred charges (shipping and insurance, ect.)

The return item must be insured. I will return your money immediately upon receipt of the item.

A NOTE ABOUT TERMINOLOGY OF FLAWS

Many antiques and collectibles show the wear of time, travel and love.I call them character marks.

Most damage will cause a fluctuation in the prices when compared to a 'perfect' piece. The question is if it's damaged, how much does it detract from the beauty?

You could take the viewpoint that if it's not perfect it's not something that you wish to have in your collection. If you chose this viewpoint, you may just be missing out on having a great piece because of minor damage, which is another way of looking at it.

My personal passion allows for imperfections. I will call out any character marks in my descriptions for your personal discretion.

The following are guidelines to the terms I use in my descriptions. I hope they will help you when you are deciding whether to buy or pass up a great item, but only you can make the final decision.

These are the descriptions you may occasionally encounter:

Adventurine Glass - Glittering glass made by the inclusion of gold, copper, iron or brass flakes, often mixed with colored glass, trapped between two layers of glass, the exterior layer being clear glass.

Champleve - Enamel decoration made by pouring the enamel into cut recesses in the base metal and then firing

Chigger bite - same as pinhead

Chip - larger than a pinhead but less that 1/4"

Cloissonne - Enameling in which thin wire is guilded and bent to form cells, then filled with enamel. Each color is in a seperate compartment separated by the thin wire.

Coralene - is made by firing many small colored beads on the outside of glassware, porcelain or pottery.

Crazing - spider web lines in the glaze caused by time

Ding - barely thru the surface

Earthenware - made from fairly coarse clays which when fired hardens the clay but does not fuse it, so it is more porous than porcelain and will stain easily if the glaze crazes. It is has a softer feel than porcelain.

Fireglow – Tan colored art glass, usually with an acid finish, which produces a red-brown glow (like the glow from the fireplace) when held to a bright light.

Flake or Sliver - runs the direction of the glass or porcelain, depth maybe the thickness of a piece of paper or less

FLASHED GLASS - The superimposition of a thin layer of colored glass on the body of a glass object; dipping the object into molten glass does this. The contrasting flashing color can be cut to produce a pattern. A lot of the European cut-to-crystal is flashed. Flashing, also known as plating, is probably about as thick as a sheet of paper and can still be scratched through, but not as easily as staining. Authors have used the word ‘flashed’ interchangeably with ‘stained’ giving the impression that flash and stain are different names for the same process, they are not the same process at all.

Jack Mark - A Jack is a tool shaped like huge tweezers used to manipulate hot glass. It sometimes leaves a mark if the glass isn't the right temperature or it isn't released properly.

Niello - a metallic alloy of sulfur, copper, silver, and lead used as an inlay on engraved metal. Used for filling in designs cut from metal

Pinhead - small head of a straight pin

Scratch - mark the size of a hair of missing finish

Spelter - an alloy of copper and zinc in equal parts used for hard soldering and brazing.

STAINED GLASS - The process of coating a piece of glass with a chemical whose true color is developed by heat. The staining material is painted on the cooled glass with a brush, then fired on. In my experience stained glass scratches easier than ‘flashed’ so it requires even more care in cleaning. This is the least expensive way of coloring glass. Authors have used the word ‘flashed’ interchangeably with ‘stained’ giving the impression that flash and stain are different names for the same process, they are not the same process at all.

Uranium Glass – containing uranium, will glow and sometimes change color in black light. Custard and Burmese glass for example.

Vaseline Glass – flashes two colors in natural sunlight. Fluoresces transparent yellow-green in backlight. Vaseline describes a color, a type of uranium glass.

Vitreous Enamel - a glassy substance produced from finely ground colored glass that is applied to metal in liquid form, and then bonded to the metal by firing in a kiln.
