"Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light", those inspiring lyrics are inscribed across the rim of those beautiful glass plate commemorating the penning of the Star Spangled Banner. Musical notes and stars on a rainbow iridescent rim outline the plate. The frosted center features Francis Scott Key watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry. Key was a lawyer and amateur poet who was amazed that the American flag was awave after the smoke cleared from the shelling by British ships. The plate was made in 1972 by the Fostoria Glass Company. Comes in original velvet lined presentation box. Measures 10" by 7 1/2". No chips or cracks.
