Perhaps they walked the sunny shores of an ancient civilization, resplendent in their robes of turquoise trimmed in gold. This handsome couple was captured in chalkware by the American Art Industry Company of Brooklyn, NY. Meticulous attention to detail is apparent from the design of their clothing to the molding of their features. Just look at how the muscles in his neck suggest his upright bearing, while she is softer and more feminine. Fabulously Fifties! You can't pass this couple by for your Mid-Century Modern Decor! Both busts are marked #190, Amer Art Ind, 1955 on the back. She has a paper sticker, that says American Art Industries, Brooklyn, NY , Handpainted. He has a couple of small flakes in the back, otherwise no chips or cracks for either one. Some minor wear to paint or that may have been part of the design. He stands 10 1/2" high and 9" wide. She is 10" tall and 8" wide
