Interesting Carved Six Legged Walnut Side Table

Very interesting 12 pointed star design is hand carved atop a 6 legged side table. The motif is raised rather than inlaid. The smooth star and circle design is set against a pebbled surface. Elaborate designs encircle the skirt of the table. I'd love to know the meaning behind the theme of this entertaining design. Stands 19 1/2" tall, table top is 21 1/2" diameter and it's 32" at the base. It does have some age shrinkage, but no damage. The color difference is where two pieces of wood are joined together.
