Pair of Bell & Ball Mahogany Rope Beds - Carved

We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous match pair of mahogany bell and ball acanthus carved turned beds that aren’t really rope beds, but are simulated to be rope beds. They are built just like the period ones back in the 1840s, but this pair is from the 1890s to 1920s.

They are mahogany and have a great solid mahogany shield on the headboard, bolt rails that are 74 inches long that are inscribed like they are a customer pair of beds and I imagine that they will take a special size box spring and mattress. From one side to the other is 42 inches wide, 74 inches long on the side rails, 39 inches high to the shield on the headboard, the height to the headboard post is 45 inches high and the height to the footboard post is 45 inches high. It is a fantastic looking set. It has 2.75 inch by 3 inch side rails that are all scribed, which tells me they are custom made.
