We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful solid mahogany Victorian age ball and claw sideboard/buffet that dates from the 1890s. It is a beautiful piece that has been all restored in our professional restoration shop. They have done an outstanding job on this beautiful quality mahogany custom piece of furniture. It has gorgeous grains, solid mahogany raised panel center door, and hand cut dove tail multi-drawer and a mirror back.

It is a quality piece with oak as the secondary wood. It is definitely a good sign and most likely sold by Paine Furniture Company even though the label is not to be seen. It is all solid mahogany right down to the fluted columns that hold up the multi-molded top shelves to the bulbous and curved front drawer and doors with the most beautiful detail cabriole legs and solid plank sides. The back of the sideboard even has inserted raised panels, which is a sure sign of quality. On the back it does state that it was sold in Boston, Massachusetts. So most likely it was something to do with Paine Furniture because they are from Boston, Massachusetts. It is all set to go into the home.

The overall size is 60 inches wide, 24 inches deep, 37.5 inches high to the cabinet base and 57 inches high to the top of the backsplash. It has the original 1” bevel exposed mirror glass in the back that shows a couple surface scratches. All of the original hardware is still in place. The only thing that has been changed is that the finish has been re-sprayed and re-stained to bring out the gorgeous grains of the rich luxurious mahogany used.
