Vintage Console Bowl Planter - Abingdon Pottery

What a great piece to display just about anything - you could put fruit in it - how about on the middle of your dining table filled with fresh lemons or limes - what a way to get ready for spring............or perhaps you could fill it with ivy or some other plant..................

This bowl is done in a glazed creamy white. It has nice contours on the sides as well as 2 swirls on each end - sort of like tiny handles. The interior under these handles has a lovely leaf decoration that goes almost the whole way to the bottom of the bowl. On the underside of these swirls there are 2 little holes - it seems to me these could possibly have been placed there so if you wanted to hang the bowl you could - but I am not sure.

Bowl is large. It is 14 inches long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 4 1/2 inches tall at the top of the swirl handle. Bowl is in very good vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks or repairs or crazing. There are some slightly discolored areas around the edges along the little handles.

Planter is marked on the bottom ABINGDON U.S.A. inside a square. This marking is under the glaze. It also has an impressed number 532.
