Beautiful Imari cabinet plate decorated with lions in shades of red, blue, green and gold. Imari refers to Japanese pottery exported from the port of Imari, Japan. In the 17th Century, Dutch traders brought Imari pottery to the West where it was imitated by porcelain manufacturers such as Delft and Meissen. It is decorated on the back with the typical Japanese Imari blue border and is marked on the underside with a mark that appears to be from the Taisho (1913-1926) period. It does not say "Imari", which is a good thing. Only the lesser quality, contemporary pieces are clearly marked Imari. In good used condition with restoration as shown. Please ask questions, request additional photos and shipping costs before buying.
Measurements: 7.25" diameter.
