Rosenthal Porcelain Heron Figurine by M. H. Fritz - c. 1940, Germany

Large porcelain figure of a Heron standing among grass reeds. It is signed on the underside M. H. Fritz which stands for Max Fritz (1873-1948), a noted German sculptor who worked for Rosenthal between 1926 and 1946. This piece, known in German as "Fischreiher", is among his most famous works. It is marked on the underside with a green Rosenthal SELB Plossberg Bavaria Germany mark and numbered 964.
Measurements: Height 12" (30.5 cm) approximately.
