Oil painting on board of a 19th Century cavalry soldier galloping on a white horse. It is signed on the lower right Alessio Issupoff. Also known as Aleksej Vladimirovic Isupov (1889-1957), a Russian painter and graphic artist who studied at Moscow College of art, sculpture and architecture and moved to Italy in 1925 where he became a well-known and successful artist. He is known for his painting of horses, genre scenes and winter landscapes reminiscent of his native Russia.
