Early Crown Derby cabinet plate decorated with birds and flowers in typical Imari style and colors. The Chelsea Derby factory was one of the first porcelain manufacturers to copy Oriental designs in England. It is marked on the underside with the Derby Crown period marked used between 1877-1890 and numbered 198. The plate is marked on the underside with a Paul Muller Selb mark and the painting is signed on the lower right with the artist's initials M. C. In very good condition as shown. Both plates are decorated with different hand-painted fruits, flowers and birds in gilt-edged cartouches against a cobalt blue background. Incised mark on reverse of both plates (see last photo).
