Beautiful pair of Satsuma plates with detailed decoration in shades of gold depicting birds, flowers and butterflies. They are marked on the underside with a gold on black cross in a circle (mon) and a Japanese character mark, possibly the artist's signature. Crackle is characteristic of Satsuma wares and part of their design. Measurements: 6.1" (15.5 cm) approximately. Weight: each plate weighs 0.4 lbs (200 grams).

Extraordinary iridescent, pulled feather, threaded Durand art glass tulip / light shade with scalloped edge and metal base. It has no visible signature, but we know it was made by Durand based on its design and almost identical Durand pieces we have seen. As is often the case, Durand's early work tends to be unmarked.
