Here's your perfect little black dress with a twist! Great for a winter wedding reception or just for dinner and an evening out. By Gay Gibson, well-known maker of mid-priced clothing from the 30s to the 70s, this 1960's lush rayon-velvet dress features clean lines and styling. Its uniqueness is in the 3/4-length sleeves finished off with a large, pink-satin-lined circular flounce. (There is also pink sating piping trim on the neckline, although it washed out in the photos.) Has scoop neck, bust darts in front, long shaping darts in back, back nylon zipper. Is meant to fit nipped in at the waist, not tightly fitted. Wear it alone, or pair it with a vintage chain belt, as I have shown it (belt not included); also would be great with a vintage scarf/sash or wide chunky belt. Dress is in excellent condition, looks as if it were worn only once or twice! The velvet is soft and simply sumptuous, not crushed, worn, or thin.
Labeled size 11, and measures out to about a modern medium (about an 8, depending on your exact measurements).
* Bust: 37"
* Waist: 32"
* Hips: 37"
Length: 35 1/2" down center back
* Taken flat on front & doubled. Note: I do NOT stretch garments out when I measure them, unless otherwise stated. But I do flatten them out as much as possible. I don't use stretched dimensions, because if the item is too small for you, you'll be unhappy! I suggest you measure a similarly styled dress you already own in the same manner to check for fit.
Fabric: Rayon velvet (this would be dry clean only)
Condition: Excellent; no flaws to note
We inspect our offerings carefully and note flaws we see. We may miss a minor nit or pick on occasion, and should we miss anything major, be assured it is by accident, and let us know! We are only human!
