An amazing find was this mid-century (40s to early 50s) colonial figural lamp with parchment shade, which we believe is its original. Nice smaller table or boudoir lamp. Marked AWM 232. We've seen this lamp in the female version without its shade, and several other similar styles, none with its matching shade--so this is pretty unique. With the shade's musical-note motif and a decorative base, lamp resembles an old-fashioned music box. Handpainted porcelain figure (translucent when held to the light), brass (or brass plated) metal parts. We've been using this, but just got a new dog and fear it may get broken. That's why it's being offered here. Works perfectly with original wiring and switch. No fraying, wear, cracks, or other damage to cord, plug, prongs, or socket; still has remnants of old UL paper tag on cord. We have no qualms about using this (suggest maximum 40W bulb), but if you want to have it re-wired, it's your call.
Figure measures about 7 1/2" H, including porcelain base; shade is 6 1/4" high x 11" dia. across its bottom. Excellent condition; the lamp itself is excellent-plus. One small area of crazing on the porcelain base; balance has no wear to the paint, no chips or cracks, etc. One small "ding" on the back side, smooth & overcoated with original paint, so a manufacturing oops. Brass parts have age patina--this should come up with polishing, but many folks prefer the aged look, so I haven't polished it; will do so before shipping at your request. (I have good-quality brass polish!) Shade has a couple tiny white spots that may be paint drips, and its gold-paper trim shows wear.
