Being offered is a wonderful Crown Trifari faux pearl and pave rhinestone sterling fur clip advertised as The Dream Shell. The A. Philippe patent no. is 148,185 dated 12/23/47. This is an amazing piece, featuring pave set chaton & baguette rhinestones surrounding a central cabochon faux pearl which does have some visible light scuff marks (that show up more under the lens of the camera than can be seen with the naked eye). The larger chaton rhinestones on the outside perimeter of the fur clip are actually 4 prong set. Please note one of them (on the top left, as can be clearly seen in the pictures) is darkened and some other prong set ones on the right side show signs of beginning to darken upon close examination, not necessarily seen by the naked eye or under light. With the exception of the one darkened rhinestone, the remainder still sparkle & shine. The fur clip measures approximately 1 3/4" in diameter, there is a closing "c" clasp on one of the prongs, for security purposes, very well made. The clip back is signed Trifari with the crown mark above, then pat pend and sterling at the bottom right side. Although beautiful as is, restoration of the darkened rhinestone would enhance the beauty even more.
