The year 1911, part of The Belle Epoque or Beautiful Era, was also the year the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre in Paris. It would take two years before she was located and returned to the museum.
The napkin ring is fully marked for .950 sterling silver denoted by the Minerva 1st. Titre mark (the head of Minerva with the #1 to the right. The maker’s mark is still being research; the initials are EC with a large flower (possibly a sunflower), my first pass is Charles Emile Coindriau (1884-1898). I believe by the maker's mark the napkin ring pre-dates the inscription and may have been produced in the late 1800's.
Measurements; 1 ˝” wide, diameter 2”. Weight 30gr. Condition; very good antique condition, surface scratches and dimples in accordance with age. Slightly out of round when view from either end.
