I am back from France & England, will be listing new inventory over the next 3-4 weeks.
The Reaumur scale was used during the 18th & 19th C. and was invented by a French gentleman named Rene`Antoine Reaumur. Thomas Jefferson used one and you will find references to the scale in his writings. Jefferson was keenly interested in record keeping and measurements. "Notes on the State of Virginia" which Jefferson published in 1785 included information on Virginia's climate. The book was privately printed in France in 1785 and later published in England in 1787.
