19C Ambrotype Portrait of a Handsome Young Man

A 19th. Century Ambrotypes Photo with velvet and embossed leather case. The portrait is of a handsome young man posing as was proper in Victorian times, "composed and dignified". The portrait was acquired on my last buying trip to England along with another of a Victorian Lady. I am listing this as an Ambrotype based upon my research. When reviewing the young man, his hairstyle, and his clothes; I estimate the time frame to be 1850s-1860. It appears he is wearing a high collared shirt with a cravat tied into a bow. The hair appears well groomed and parted on one side.

Measurements: picture , 2 ½” x 2”, case 3” x 2 1/4”

Condition: picture good, slight tint to cheeks, inside case good, outside case, will need some repair to leather on one side, clasp still works well and slides into the holder
