A Sweet Set of 5 Nut or mint Dishes Decorated with Flowers in a Club Shape. Most likely hand-panted by an amateur American artist around the turn of the 19th. Century. One of the five is signed "Brunnetta". All five have their own floral design. These were probably painted by an amateur artist to fit her own personal need. They may have been painted to work with her china service or an addition to a tea set. China painting was a favorite pastime in America during the early 1900's. Women took china painting classes at home and some even traveled to Europe to learn the art. Once they learned the art; many purchased blanks and painted them to work with their homes and lifestyles. Marked for Paroutaud Freres (P.P.) and La Seynie (one of 3 locations for the company), Mark #1, underglaze white ware mark in green, ca. 1903-1917 Measuring 3 1/4 inches wide by 3 inches long. Condition very good, some loss of gold edging.
