Black Mulberry Transferware Small Plate~Child's Tea Set Plate with Romantic Scene

This Sweet Small Mulberry Transferware Plate is the same size of most tea set plates, 4 inches. I believe this was part of a child's tea set. The Romantic garden scene includes a bridge over a pond with two swans. The scene possibly was taken from a topographical print or a painting. European themes were fashionable in Victorian England. They also found their way to the table through designs on Transferware. The plate is a deep mulberry and is in very good condition for the grand old age of 150 years; the only exception is a chip on the front. I have shown this chip in a close-up and will leave the decision for touch-up to the next caretaker of this little piece of past history.
