They all called by different names nymph Cherub, or putti, but no matter, the detailing is wonderful of this wonderful Silhouette Schernecchitte. The intricate cutting of the garland of flowers,and stars, is amazing. A most graceful subject matter. Notice the brass accents on the corner of the wood frame. A very nice large size the frame measures 12.5" x 15.5". The actual pictures measures 10.5 inches x 13.5 inches. It is signed RW Killock 86. there are some minor nicks on the frame. Antique and vintage items by their very nature are used items and will show signs of normal wear due to age and use. FYI: Scherenschnitte ..translating from German "scissor cuts" It is the art of paper-cutting a design, usually with black paper.It was founded in Switzerland and Germany in the 1500's. brought to America in the 1700s. An unique form of art.
