I think the proper name is a convertible purse, BUT this one is not like most, that I have seen. First you have the outer layer of black patent leather, with a cut out handle.

The gold-tone clasp is on the front and back. There is a reason for this. When you undo them you are left with a black fabric purse, that can be used as a clutch, or it has a golden chain, and it could be used as a handbag. The is one metal zippered pocket on the side wall, of the fabric purse. HOW NEAT is that.... Please study the pictures, so you can better see, how divine this purse really is. The clasp works perfectly, the lining is stain free with no tears There are a few minor surface scuffs in the leather, but none of them detract from the beauty of the bag. This is a large bag. The patent leather part measures 10" wide x 12" long. The cloth bag measures 9 and 3/4" wide x 7" long. I have a pair of black fabric gloves, that I added as a Bonus.
