REDUCED Vintage English Abbey Red Plate Embossed Roses Man & Woman Shooting Scene

What a gorgeous transfer ware that adorns this plate. The red is so unique. There are embossed roses every 3-4 inches along the outer 2 inches on the plate. The scene, what I see, is a woman seated, with a rifle? possibly shooting at something in the castle ruins, along the creek/river not far from a bridge and homes. Target practicing maybe. If you know the story/history to this transferware pattern, I would oh so be grateful to learn the 'truth' about what the scene depicts. Look at it closely, and if you have time, just drop me a line about what You see in the scene! I appreciate knowing what you see!

I have 2 of these plates. They would look great together flanking a buffet or hutch, or grouped together one high one low, to bring some color into that dark spot that just needs something more! One would work well anywhere!

These have been displayed for many years, and I am sad to say that the wire hangers of old were a little rough on them. One plate has 5 small chips on the back only, where the hangers held them. Some of the chips are very small, a couple are no larger than my little fingernail across. Flaked off areas only. One plate only has 2 small chips/flakes, same way, the wire hangers left their damage. Please see all pictures. The chips are not noticeable from the front and these display beautifully. The transfer ware is beautiful. Clean and crisp. The texture along the edged really grab your attention to the fact that these are truly gorgeous no matter where you decide to use them!

Both plates are marked English Abbey in a wrath on the back in green.
