True Antique & Collectible Lover's Heaven where ALL Major Credit Cards are always accepted!
A True Beauty that Needs YOU!
This is their model 39-7 AC Superheterodyne standard broadcast 540 - 1720 kilocycles . The original finish on the wood was a very rich and warm coloring with tiger stripped veneer inlays across along the top. There are pushbuttons that are adjustable to preset to your local stations.
Wood Grain is Beautiful
The wood cabinet needs stripping and sanding and repairing the 3 small missing veneer pieces across the angled strips in front of the speaker, and the ¼” strip along the top of the left side, and then give it a coat of natural oil stain to re-vamp the dry wood, then seal all of it with ever how many coats you want of lacquer. Sand with high grit sand paper and hand rub and Voila! When you are done, this beauty will be worth HUNDREDS! I do not have the time or knowledge to repair and restore. I would rather have someone that can do this antique the JUSTICE THAT IT DESERVES! EVERY THING appears to be original, except for the prices on a couple of parts as if they have been replaced somewhere in the past for this sturdy reliable radio that probably witnessed WW2 on it. It is 67 years old. The label with the model number and tube locations are on the inside of the cabinet are in good condition. The dial cover is free of scratches.
The radio measures 12 1/2" long, 6-1/2" wide, and stands 8-1/4" tall.
About the Radio
The electronics need to be thoroughly gone through.
I just saw this same model sell on another "site" at auction, for the low price of $380!
If you are handy or know someone who is, then this is the buy of the YEAR!
