True Antique & Collectible Lover's Heaven where ALL Major Credit Cards are now accepted!
This was purchase from an elderly woman in her 90's this year at her living estate sale. She told me that it has held tons of fresh cut flowers for her over the years. What memories this vase must have!
This was made by the Imperial Glass Company, Line #474, Nu-cut 12" Vase, Circa 1920's.
Standing a significant 12 inches tall and sitting on an octagonal base that is 5 inches across, The top of the vases bulbs out to a grand 6.5 inches and curves back to itself with a sawtooth type edging along the rim. This sawtooth edging is smooth so that you won't cut yourself arranging all those flowers that are aching to be put in here!
This is a very heavy vase weighing in around 5+ pounds.
It is terribly hard to photograph without the reflections from the flash detracting from the pattern.
A little history from the National Imperial Glass Collectors:
1911- On the registration application for the NUCUT mark, Imperial claimed to have been using this mark as early as 1911. The application was filed March 17, 1913 and approval was granted on September 15, 1914. (#99,747) Only the basic NUCUT design with 'tail' appears marked on glass. The word 'trade mark' on the 'tail' appears in advertising and catalogs. The NUCUT mark was removed from all moulds c.1932
