This is a great cobalt blue and grey white two-toned milk can canister by McCoy. Medium- #254. Stands 10.5 inches tall and has a base diameter of 7 inches with a 5 inch opening. The lid has a factory mark of a touch of cobalt edge that is lighter than the rest. Please see pictures. Does not stand out. There is a hairline crack that has been there since I received them in 1980. Does not effect the crock at all. Cannot feel hairline on inside at all. Holds fluid with no leaking.

Great utilitarian piece! Holds a ton of receipts! That is what service I had it perform for me. Of course, you decide what you want to hide in it! I used one for household receipts and the other one for gas receipts. I am also listing the next size up from this one. There are only 2 of them. This listing is for the larger of the two.

A little online history on the LCC and McCoy era marks-

"THE LANCASTER COLONY CORPORATION ERA"

"In 1974 the Lancaster Colony Corporation (LCC) purchased the McCoy pottery. The LCC gradually abolished all the marks used during the previous six years and resumed using the name “McCoy”, in the style that was first used in the 1940’s. The LCC did however add their initials “LCC” to the mark, and typically “USA”. Given below are three of these marks. Note that both embossed and incised marks occur. As mentioned earlier, the inclusion of the style number in the mark became more prevalent with time, and it was generally included on the LCC pieces. " Thank you McCoy Collectors Society!
