Tea pot, lid, 6 plates, & 2 cups.

This is a gorgeous rust red on pristine white, tea pot, dessert plates and tea cups. How I wish that the rest was not MIA......although, the teapot and 6 dessert plates you would be able to set a grand tea time for 2! The other 2 pieces I am including for free with the purchase of the tea pot and the plates and 2 cups. [There is a open sugar bowl -[missing the lid], and another cup so you have a spare!

What an interesting Geisha Girl set this appears to be. Eggshell thin cups, with raised handpainting over what I believe to be transfer of the main scene of the 3 Geisha's. 2 girls are siting at a table, with one playing an instrument and the other holding something horizontally and yet another Geisha standing behind them to the side watching....waiting....intriguing scene. There is gold over the top of different areas of clothing, and on the outer border of the items.

The early red mark-Made in Japan- basically covers the time between the end of the Hand-painted Nippon era c.1921 to the start of WWII or the Japanese participation of about 1940 and again after the war about 1952 pieces were again marked "Made in Japan".

All 12 pieces total:

1 Teapot with lid-[approximately 6 cup tea pot]; 8 inches width including spout. Original Bamboo handle. The early red Made in Japan mark on the bottom of the teapot. Please see all photos.

6 Dessert Plates-7 3/8 inches in diameter.

3 Tea or Coffee Cups- 3.75 inches in diameter- egg shell thin.

Sugar Bowl-2.5 inches tall and 5 3/8 inches handle to handle on a 2.25 inch base. No Lid.

Be sure to look at all photos. The golds that are accenting different things, sometimes made bright spots on the pictures. This set is not spotted like it may appear to some. It is the flash on the gold!

Isn't it Tea Time YET???!
