This wonderful St. Bernard, Bow Wow figural cast iron nutcracker was made right here in Atlanta, Ga., by Bailey Burruss Manufacturing Company! The company started producing these in Atlanta Circa 1915.

Bailey Burruss Mfg. Co. & Atlanta Ga. is the hallmark on the bottom. There is also the number 38 in the center of the bottom base.

What a great conversation piece. This is a very unusual St. Bernard nutcracker made from cast Iron. He is so detailed, in that he is showing the outline of the his fur! His mouth opens to become the nutcracker and his tail is the handle for opening and closing his mouth to crack the nuts.

Excellent condition physically, just needs a coat of paint. The red paint is wearing off. I have used him as a door stop for years.

This is very heavy and has substantial weight. This is a true vintage antique item, not a new one. He measures 12 inches long from of the base to end of tail by 3 inches wide on the base that he sits on. He is about 5 inches tall at his head.

This is a very usable antique collectible.

What kind of Dog, you ask. This is a St. Bernard. How do I know? I have a customer that has emailed me with further history and information on him. He is truly a St. Bernard. Seems that my clients grandfather actually purchased an identical dog, and received a Thank You letter for his decision to purchase from Bailey and Burruss, -1- St. Bernard, Bow Wow Nutcracker.

He is just a wonderful working cast iron nutcracker.

Nice condition with no damage.
