What an absolutely fantastic piece to feel in your hands! This grill plate is a heavy heavy work of clay. It stands a stately 1 inch tall and is so thick, no wonder it lasted so long! There is one small chip on the underside of the plate that, as you see, doesn't effect the face of the divided plate at all. The divided sections are not chipped in any manor. These are really pretty. I believe to be Early American Pressed Glass that was so popular in it's day. This is too large to be salt cellar, but I think that they are a tad too small to be a sherbert. The saw toothed edging and the patterns that are on the sides and bottom leads me to believe them to be EAPG. They have a beautiful pattern with crosscuts stars, fans, arches, etc. to them.
