I originally come from Brooklyn, New York. I currently live in a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. My formal training is in Aeronautical Engineering in which I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Northrop Institute of Technology in Los Angeles. After many years working in industry, I enrolled at Palomar College Art Department in San Diego where I studied all aspects of jewelry design and creation with master jewelers Anthony Lugo and Garry Cohen. After 2 years of study, I began designing and casting jewelry for a well known international jewelry company for 10 years before launching my own company with my own original designs. I love working with animal and nature themes because it fits nicely with my spiritual and philosophical interests. I try to create realistic designs with great respect for the inter-relatedness of all phenomena and the innate wisdom of nature. My original designs are initially carved by me in wax. I often spend a week or more on one design. When I have one that I like, I make a mold of the wax pattern. From the mold I can then obtain wax injections that are identical to the original design. The ancient science of lost wax casting involves investing a wax pattern in a flask with a gypsum slurry that hardens around the wax. It goes into a kiln at 1400 degrees for 6 hours during which time the wax pattern completely evaporates leaving a perfect impression of itself. Silver can then be forced into the impression using a centrifuge. I hand finish all of my jewelry and I choose stones from many places that interest me. I love my work and I am determined to offer my designs at fair prices.
