An antique silver plate vase that features a ruffled rim with a all over pierced design. The handle is decorated with a serpent at the top. These particular baskets were all the rage in the late 19th Century for brides gifts. Manufactured by the Bernard Rice & Sons Silver Co. prior to 1899. Bernard Rice & Sons merged with Apollo Silver and Shepard and Rice prior to 1899. The entire piece from bottom to top of upright handle measures 18.5" high.
