About Us

That Was Then, Inc. has been in the antiques and collectibles business for over two decades. After years of doing shows, having a shop, booths in malls, etc. we are now EXCLUSIVELY doing business through this Ruby Lane website. We earned our Platinum rating (over 1000 items sold) in 2012 and are proud to have Ruby Lane display it by our shop's name.

We especially love enamel jewelry and other enamel on silver items and butterfly pins. Our other specialty is jasperware plaques - mainly by Volkstedt or other German makers.

With over 1000 items available at all times, we carry everything except the kitchen sink! About one third is jewelry, and the remainder is porcelain, pottery, china, decorative items, as well as books and a few other paper items such as die-cut Valentine's cards and specialty antique postcards.

Also, we are proud contributors to the Ruby Lane Blog (you can find it by clicking on 'Relax' on the top of the page). All the titles or our articles contain the phrase, 'Evolution of an Antique Dealer' so you can search on that to find over a dozen published articles.

We pride ourselves on fast and secure packing and shipping. We now ship all jewelry items within the United States free of charge. Very often, if it is a high-priced piece of jewelry we will automatically upgrade shipping to Express Mail so you can have the item within 2 days or less!

We always maintain a selection of Georg Jensen sterling, enamels on sterling, vanity items, fine figural porcelains, and glass. Only about 20% of our inventory is currently listed here. Thus, if you are looking for a particular item, please feel free to email and we can tell you if that is something we have available or can obtain for you.
