SHOP UPDATE January 2012: So many of my customers have emailed asking where I've been this winter that I am putting up a few paragraphs about my shop and its status. After an autumn and winter of very rewarding community service, I am curtailing my jewelry production, with an eye toward closing my shop at the end of this year.

As many of you know, the skyrocketing rise in the cost of precious metals have forced many designers to change to cheaper base metals in their pieces. After much consideration, I just cannot bring myself to do this. Only the precious metals, as well as surgical steel, are truly hypoallergenic to the ears. Almost all other plated metals, especially the 'white' ones, contain nickel and/or zinc, a skin irritant for many women. Base metals can be very damaging to the earlobe, so I will continue to use only 14kt. gold-filled, sterling silver and sterling silver filled wire in my pieces. I will not wear base metal earrings, and know that the great majority of my regular customers will not either.

I will be listing new items in my most popular styles, and continue to accept special orders, until my inventory is gone. As always, all reasonable offers will be considered. Welcome to Strega2 Jewelry. I have several degrees in Medieval History and a lifelong passion for the art and culture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. I originally began creating jewelry adapted from this period for myself, because it was almost impossible to find. The reception among friends and colleagues was so positive that I began selling it at select juried craft shows and then on the Internet.

I worked and trained with a master jeweler for several years to put myself through college and graduate school, and my online store has provided the perfect showcase to combine these 2 lifelong passions--finely crafted original designer jewelry, and the history of Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance Europe.

Every woman is a Goddess in her own way. Cultures throughout history have honored the strength, beauty and character of women in these archetypes. My Goddess line of jewelry is designed to let you express the unique personality that is you, and only you, my Lady.

I will gladly design and craft custom orders whenever possible. We can discuss this via email, and I will send scans of the finished product for the buyer's approval. Photos of your custom item will not be shown in my store. Custom orders, crafted to your specifications, are non-returnable and non-refundable.

I use only .925 sterling silver, .925 sterling silver-filled, sterling 24kt. vermeil and 14kt. gold-filled metals (used in most good museum or historical reproduction jewelry), and I use primarily semi-precious gemstones, with occasional crystal and cubic zirconia accents.

I keep a small representative sample of Sold Items in my shop, but if you wish to buy a particular past item, please email me. I probably still have the photographs.

I sold my original artisan jewelry on EBay under the same name for over 12 years, before moving exclusively to Ruby Lane. I have built a loyal and very large international customer base through excellent customer service and communication, and finely crafted artisan jewelry. Since 1998 my policy has been that "Customer Service is my top priority!" All jewelry is shipped in a gold jewelry box, perfect for keeping or gift-giving.

There is not enough room here to publish the thousands of customer testimonials I've received over the years. But you can view my EBay feedback under Strega2, where I have almost 9500 unique positives (this does not count the many repeat buyers). I was a Powerseller for 10 years.

Most of my designs are adaptations of historical styles, but with my own interpretation. My original techniques, concepts, titles and descriptions have been quite widely imitated by some of the newer designers. Jewelry copycats operate just beneath the radar of the copyright laws, cashing in on the creativity of others. You will find the originals here.
